Each missing piece has it's place.

Problem with Artifact game: island with entry platform containing "ship's wheel" on the right doesn't seem to work. Opposite (left) side of entry platform brings up "activate" action but when clicked nothing seems to happen. Is this a bug or have I just not deciphered how to access the island yet?
You have to collect an item to activate it, that's all I'll say. Thanks for checking it out!
